VP Legal AARPI is subject to the professional rules of the Code of Ethics of the Paris Bar Association (Code de Déontologie de l’Ordre des Avocats de Paris.)

The director of the publication is Mrs. Isabelle Vaugon, partner of VP Legal AARPI.

The website and all its components, in particular the texts, articles, newsletters, press releases, presentations, brochures, illustrations, photographs, computer programs, animations, etc., are the exclusive intellectual property of AARPI VP Legal, with the exception of any third-party trademarks that may be mentioned.

The user is not allowed to replicate, represent, modify, translate and/or adapt, partially or totally, for a fee or free of charge, the website and any of its components, nor to replicate or represent such translations, adaptations and modifications, partially or totally, for a fee or free of charge, without the prior written consent of VP Legal AARPI.

The website is reachable 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, unless interruptions are necessary for technical maintenance, servicing and updating operations that VP Legal AARPI considers necessary.

The user acknowledges having the competence and means necessary to access and use the website and confirms having verified that the computer configuration used is free from viruses and in perfect working condition.

PROVISIONS REGARDING PERSONAL DATA

 

• Necessity of data collection, purposes and legal basis
The data gathered within the framework of our assignments are subject to computer processing in order to respond to clients’ requests and, more generally, for the purposes of processing and monitoring files, invoicing and collection or taxation of fees.
The legal basis on which we mainly rely on processing personal data is our legitimate interest in carrying out such handling, which is necessary for the provision of our legal services as well as the above-mentioned support and related services.

• Data controller and recipients of the data collected
The party in charge of processing personal data is VP Legal AARPI. In accordance with professional secrecy, all information is intended only for VP Legal AARPI and its authorized personnel, including partners, associates and trainees. The data collected from the client will not be transmitted to commercial or advertising parties.

• Data retention and transfer
Data is stored for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, to comply with our legal and professional duties and our obligations to our professional liability policy.
We implement appropriate procedural and technical means to protect the personal data we collect. Where applicable, transfers outside the EEA will normally be made on the basis of standard clauses approved by the European Commission for transfers from EU controllers to non-EU controllers, or by the privacy shield or other protection mechanism provided by EU regulations.

• Law of persons
For legitimate reasons, the client may object to the processing of data concerning them. However, the client is advised that failure to provide all relevant information may prevent the lawyer from processing their request or cause a delay in processing.
In accordance with the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French Data Protection Act of January 6, 1978, amended in 2018, the client has the right to access, limit, rectify, delete or erase personal data concerning him. If applicable, the client also has the right to data portability. The client can also provide instructions to the law firm as to whether or not to disclose his personal data after his death.

• Transmission by the client of personal data
If the client is led to transmit to VP Legal AARPI personal data relating to third parties, it is the client’s responsibility to ensure that such data has been collected in accordance with the GPDR and the French Data Protection Act referred to above and that he is entitled to communicate them to us.

• Data from recruitment applicants
The personal data provided by the applicants are processed by VP Legal AARPI, located at 3 avenue Bosquet, 75007 Paris, as the data controller for recruitment and interview management purposes. The legal basis for the processing is the firm’s legitimate interest in recruiting candidates. The fields marked with an asterisk (*) in the submission form are mandatory, and otherwise the firm will not be able to process your application.
The law firm will retain the personal data of the applicants for a period of two years following the last contact between the law firm and the applicant, unless the applicant requests the destruction of their file. The law firm may also share this data with its service providers and subcontractors, if any.
In accordance with the applicable regulations, applicants have the right to access, rectify and delete personal data, the right to limit processing and the right to object to processing. Applicants can also define the outcome of their personal data in the instance of their death.
